| This is a dump of the original system BIOS of the IBM PCjx. After the PCjr failed in USA, IBM released the PCjx in Japan and Australia, but it failed as miserably as the PCjr did. Instead of the 360KB diskdrive of the PCjr, the PCjx had 2 3,5" 720KB disk drives as well as other improvements over the PCjr. The BIOS is located at F000:0, just like on all PCs. | ||

The original release of this classic. Originally released as a demonstration for the IBM PCjr, to help out its poor sales. However, the game didn't sell all that well, and was later release first for Tandy 1000, which featured the same 16 color graphics, and 3 voice sound as the PCjr, and then later for the PC as well. For the PC, it only has CGA graphics (the only one available at the time), but it gives 16 colors in composite mode. |  |

Speeds up boot process by skipping most of the POST. Makes the machine boot in about 3 seconds. Appearantly there is some incompability in the PCjr BIOS, which prevents QuickBasic v3.00-4.50 from working properly on the PCjr. Using this ROM cartridge fixes that incompability, and is referenced by Microsoft. The cartridge replaces the original BIOS at F000:0. |

All the JRC images are actual dumps from PCjr cartridges, and are for future use in Tand-Em. The boot images on this page will only work on real PCjr's, or in emulators that emulate PCjr, they won't work on Tandy.
